Recent Rainfall Could Result in Lake Corpus Christi Water Releases

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX –The City of Corpus Christi along with area partners continue to monitor the weather very closely including the water levels of Lake Corpus Christi reservoir.  Lake Corpus Christi remains at 100% capacity and any additional rainfall could result in potential water releases from the Wesley Seale Dam.

City officials want to keep the reservoir at 100% capacity while maintaining the integrity of the dam and minimizing flooding downstream along the Nueces River. Using data from river flows, rainfall and current lake capacity, officials will determine if releases are necessary.

As we continue to monitor the weather forecast, area residents should take precautions to protect lives and property. Stay up to date on the latest conditions, by registering for emergency alerts at www.reversealert.org.
