2018 CCPD Honors Top Officers
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - Chief of Police Mike Markle recently honored several officers and civilians who made valuable contributions in 2018.
Officer of the Year: Officer Dominic Knab, Uniform Division
In 2018, selected Operations Bureau Officer of the Month, Charlie District Officer of the Month (twice), received three letters of recognition for his work in drug seizures.
Supervisor of the Year: Lieutenant Phillip Bintliff, Uniform Division
Develops strategies to combat crime in his district and works closely with the Criminal Investigations Division. He is also a previous Officer of the Year.
Investigator of the Year: Senior Officer Crystal Bustamante, Auto Theft Task Force
Provided information on a stolen vehicle linked to a double homicide.
Employee of the Year: James Smith, Crime Analyst
Helped solve several major cases and identified suspects involved in serial property crimes and auto thefts. This is his second Employee of the Year award.
Volunteer of the Year: Jesse Fuentes, Volunteer
Has researched more than 4,470 drug cases to identify narcotics eligible for destruction.
Promotion: Senior Officer Paul Hernandez promoted to Lieutenant, Uniform Division
Has served as a field training officer, a hostage negotiation team member and was with the narcotics vice division for three years. In 2013, he was named Field Officer of the Year.
