Jin Bohannon Named 2018 City Employee of the Year
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Jin Bohannon, a Senior System Specialist with the Water Division of Utilities, was recently named the 2018 City Employee of the Year for her exemplary work ethic.
“I’m very honored to receive this award and thank you to everyone who voted for me,” Bohannon said.
“I am grateful for the support from my co-workers and my supervisors and the director. While this award is addressed to me it would not be possible without everyone who is part of this team.”
Supervisors describe Bohannon as a key team member who is responsible for maintaining the O.N. Stevens Water Treatment Plant's Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) program, which keeps an eye on the City's public water system's process control data and water quality.
She has also led efforts to establish the Department Operation Center (DOC) and ensures the facility systems are running efficiently and are user-friendly for plant operators.
Other Employee of the Year nominees included Utilities Work Coordinator Larry Gonzalez, Engineering Associate Edward Dunbar, and Utility Business Office Manager Margaret Morin.
The City’s Human Resources department hosted the recognition event on December 12 at the American Bank Center and coordinated the presentation of trophies and certificates to several outstanding employees.
IT Business Analyst Cynthia Perez was named Volunteer of the Year with 415.75 hours and Gas Utility Technician Abel Silva was named Safest Employee of the Year.
