Dive Into the Wonderful World of Water With City Swim Lessons

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department invites the media for a photo opportunity of its Swim Lessons. Both group and private swim lessons are offered now through the beginning of August.

WHAT:         Swim Lessons are open to all ages and are for swimmers of varying skill levels to learn the skills and joys of swimming and the importance of water safety. Each summer group session runs for two weeks Tuesday-Friday, from 8:30am-1pm and 4-8pm. Swim lessons are divided into multiple tiers in which swimmers learn all the skills within one level before advancing to the next.

WHO:           190 participants in each of the two sessions.

WHERE:       Corpus Christi Natatorium, located at 3202 Cabaniss Parkway.

WHEN:         This swim lesson session will run through Friday, June 29, from 4-8pm; the best time for photo opportunities is 5-6pm.

WHY:           Swim lessons provide participants the opportunity to add an essential life skill to their toolbox. Swimming is a great form of exercise that boasts multiple health benefits including weight management, heart health, and reduced stress. Our Aquatics staff encourage all residents to engage in a lifetime of active and recreational enjoyment which includes swimming.
