Set. Jump. Spike! Volleyball Campers Got Game!

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department invites the media for a photo opportunity of its Volleyball Camp. This camp is one of 10 different types of sports camps offered as part of the Summer 2018 Youth Sports Camps.

WHAT:         The Volleyball Camp, for youth ages 8-16, runs June 26–29 from 9am–12pm. It offers players of all skill levels the opportunity to learn the rules and fundamentals of the sport while also participating in practice games. Players learn maneuvers like how to serve, set, dig, spike and more. Professional instruction is provided by Coach Tommy Rios.

WHO:           30 girls are participating in the camp.

WHERE:       Corpus Christi Gym, located at 3202 Cabaniss Parkway.

WHEN:         Best time for media is Thursday, June 28, from 10–11am.

WHY:           Teamwork is essential to the game as players rely on each other to achieve points on the court. This program also instilling important life skills like discipline, focus and goal-setting.
