Latest Recycle Right Character is a Glass Act

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – With hopes of becoming a single-stream recyclable shattered, Pickled Pattie – the glass jar – serves as a reminder to never place glass items in the recycling cart.

Glass items frequently break and pose a potential safety hazard for workers who hand-sort materials at the recycling center.

Instead, all glass should be dropped off at the J.C. Elliott Collection Center, Hwy 286 at Ayers Street Monday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is not necessary to separate glass items by color or size, or remove any labels before drop-off.

The City’s Recycle Right campaign is designed to inform and educate the public about how and what to recycle. More detailed information is available at cctexas.com/recycleright. Communities in Schools also uses the campaign to teach CCISD students about the benefits of recycling.
