Latest Recycle Right Character is a Glass Act

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – With hopes of becoming a single-stream recyclable shattered, Pickled Pattie – the glass jar – serves as a reminder to never place glass items in the recycling cart.

Glass items frequently break and pose a potential safety hazard for workers who hand-sort materials at the recycling center.

Instead, all glass should be dropped off at the J.C. Elliott Collection Center, Hwy 286 at Ayers Street Monday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is not necessary to separate glass items by color or size, or remove any labels before drop-off.

The City’s Recycle Right campaign is designed to inform and educate the public about how and what to recycle. More detailed information is available at Communities in Schools also uses the campaign to teach CCISD students about the benefits of recycling.
