New Tai Chi Class Offered This Spring

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department will start offering its Tai Chi Class for ages six and older on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm to 7pm at Joe Garza Recreation Center, located at 3204 Highland Avenue.

Learn the ancient Chinese martial art form of Tai Chi which is often described as ‘meditation in motion.” Through low-impact, slow relaxed movements, individuals of any age may gain strength, flexibility, balance and aerobic conditioning.

Professional instruction will be provided by John Castillo who is a 2nd degree black belt in Tai Chi and 3rd degree black belt in Shotokan and Goju-ryu. He has been teaching since 2012 and has competed in, and won, tournaments.
