Nominate Corpus Christi to Win $20K
During “Meet Me at the Park”
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Wouldn’t it be wonderful to receive a $20,000 gift to improve one of our city parks? Can you imagine? Perhaps with the “wave of the magic wand” we could add another element to a proposed playground improvements project. This dream can come true.
Corpus Christi residents can show what parks mean to our community by nominating the City. You can nominate once daily by visiting https://www.meetmeatthepark.org/. Participants must be 18 or older and can nominate once a day, every day until April 30, 2017. The city that receives the most nominations will receive a $20,000 grant to improve a local park. If Corpus Christi wins, the money would be used for improvements at West Guth Park, located at 9700 Up River Road. Residents and media are encouraged to share park selfies and the nomination link on social media using the hashtags #MeetMeAtThePark #MeetMeAtMyWestGuth #CCParkies
After April, the city with the most nominations will receive the grant funding. Everyone who nominates a city will be entered into a drawing for a tablet outfitted for the outdoors.
The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) is collaborating with The Walt Disney Company, including Disney Citizenship, Disney/ABC Television Group and ESPN, to revitalize parks across the U.S. for a third year with the Meet Me at the Park campaign.
