City to Host Groundbreaking For New Fire Station 18
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – By next summer, the City is expected to have a new fire station and to celebrate Fire Chief Robert Rocha is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the beginning of construction.
Mayor Nelda Martinez, Council Members and City Manager Margie C. Rose will join Fire Chief Rocha at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at the new site of Fire Station No. 18, 6226 Ayers Street near Saratoga Boulevard. Parking is available at the shopping center adjacent to the groundbreaking site.
The 2008 bond project consists of constructing a new single story building, with concrete paving drives, a parking area, new utilities and much more. A special guest who was a proponent of the project also will be on hand to take part in the festivities.
