Risk to U.S. Population Remains Low

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX-The Corpus Christi – Nueces County Public Health District and Christus Spohn Hospital work together to provide the Coastal Bend community with the latest medical information impacting our area. Christus Spohn Hospital followed all appropriate orthopoxviral testing protocols mandated by the Department of State Health Services in reporting a probable case of Monkeypox in Nueces County.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention continues monitoring cases worldwide to determine the cause of the outbreak, but the risk to the U.S. population is currently considered low.

The Health District and Christus Spohn Hospital will keep the public updated when more information becomes available.
