Power Surge Takes Wooldridge Wastewater Pumps Offline Temporarily

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Late this afternoon, a power surge rendering pumps inoperable resulted in a wastewater back up in the vicinity of Cimarron and Yorktown. The pumps in the wastewater lift station should be operational again by 7 p.m. Vactor truck response crews are in the area providing supplemental support and cleanup.
At this time two of the four pumps are non-operational, and a separate bypass system is currently being installed. The bypass will prevent another occurrence in case the pumps do not resume normal operations.
Crews will in on-site to continue to monitor the throughout the evening to ensure wastewater is following correctly after the lift stations is operational.
