Play-for-All Playground Earns National Award

Project to be recognized in Washington D.C. in January

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The City of Corpus Christi has received a national award from the National Community Development Association (NCDA) for the “Play-for-All Playground” project at Salinas Park.

The collaborative effort between the Housing and Community Development Department and the Parks and Recreation Department earned the 2019 Audrey Nelson Award. The award honors a community’s outstanding achievement in service to neighborhoods and their lower-income residents through their innovative use of Community Development Block Grant Funds (CDBG).

The City’s collaborative project ranked among the top five community projects in the nation and will be recognized in January during the 2019 NCDA Winter Conference in Washington, D.C.
