Pfizer’s Latest Booster Now Available in Nueces County

Dose Protects Against Omicron COVID-19 Variants

CORPUS CHRISTI TX – The Corpus Christi - Nueces County Public Health District announces the arrival of 4,800 doses of Pfizer’s bivalent booster vaccine. The updated booster offers continued protection against the original strain of COVID-19 as well as the Omicron variant, BA.4 and BA.5.

Individuals must meet the following eligibility requirements before receiving the new booster dose, including:

  • Must be at least 12 years of age
  • Must be up to date with a primary COVID-19 vaccine series
  • The booster can only be administered a minimum of 2 months after completion of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine series

Pfizer’s bivalent booster vaccine will be available at no cost at all Public Health District clinics beginning tomorrow, Friday, September 9. No appointment is required.

Moderna’s bivalent booster vaccine will soon be available in Nueces County, pending distribution by the Department of State Health Services.
