Ocean Drive Construction Provides Manhole and Valve Adjustment
Manholes and Valves Being Adjusted Between Airline and Ennis Joslin
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Ocean Drive contractor is currently working on roadway repairs in the southbound lanes of Ocean Drive between Airline Road and Ennis Joslin Road as part of the Revive the Drive rehabilitation project.
As part of the construction process, the contractor is making adjustments to utility valves and manhole covers. The work consists of cutting into the roadway surface, which may appear as road failures, at three intersections:
- South Shore Place
- Bayshore Baycliff Drive
- Montclair Drive
This is part of a process to install concrete collars around the manhole and valve covers along Ocean Drive. The areas are temporarily being filled with hot-mix while the roadway repairs are performed. Once the adjustments are complete, the areas around the valve and manhole covers will be permanently sealed with concrete.
Partial lane closures will occur through the week of April 25 to complete the adjustments. The lanes in the southbound direction will remain open.
Safety is a top priority, so motorists are reminded to be aware of the work zone, follow the posted detour signs, or seek alternate routes to avoid the area.
The entire project is estimated to be completed in late May.
