New Park Improvements Puts Smiles on Faces of all Ages

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - Thanks to a partnership between the City, County and West Oso Independent School District (WOISD), a west side park has undergone a much needed face lift.

Earlier this year, West Haven Park located at 1718 Cliff Maus Drive, underwent the Phase I Improvement Project which provides improved lighting, a walking trail, ADA accessible exercise equipment, a covered pavilion and much more. Phase I was supported with $300,000 capital funds by County Commissioner Joe A. Gonzalez, with support of the Nueces County Commissioners Court.

Mayor Joe McComb, Council Members, County Commissioners and the West Oso Superintendent were on hand for the grand opening.

The City of Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation Department has already started the Phase II Improvements which will include new playground equipment, additional parking spaces and dead tree removal.

WOISD will maintain, monitor, and oversee the use of the park.
