Motor Vehicle Accident Results in First Responders Being Quarantined

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Earlier this morning, a motor vehicle accident resulted in a driver being trapped, extricated, and transported to a local hospital. Upon hospital assessment, the patient fit criteria for COVID-19 and will be tested. Until test results are received, the first responders at the scene will be isolated and actively monitored in an abundance of caution. In total, there were four police officers and six firefighters on scene reporting to the accident.
The City of Corpus Christi is committed to ensuring the safety of first responders and will take necessary action to protect the personnel, their families, and the community.
