Mayor Joins Building America's Future

Washington, D.C. – Building America’s Future (BAF) and the City of Corpus Christi, Texas are pleased to announce that Mayor Nelda Martinez has joined BAF as a member. Building America’s Future, a bipartisan coalition of current and former elected officials, is co-chaired by former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg (I), former Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood (R), and former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell (D).

“Corpus Christi citizens have approved more than $467 million in bonds to improve infrastructure since 2000 and are committed to redeveloping Corpus Christi from the ground up,” Martinez said. 

“We are thrilled that Mayor Martinez has joined BAF,” said Building America’s Future President Marcia Hale. “Throughout her tenure as mayor, Nelda Martinez has steadfastly championed innovation and the importance of resilient roads, bridges, and transit in her city. We are excited for her to bring her ideas and experience to BAF, and partner with her in our joint quest to make America’s cities – and the whole country – more innovative and competitive through smart infrastructure investments.”
