Luchadores Shake Things up at the Garcia Public Library

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Ladies and gentlemen…witness the action and intensity of Mexican freestyle wrestling. The Dr. Clotilde P. Garcia Public Library invites families to the spectacle of the year, “Lucha Libre at the Library.”

Attendees will learn about the history of lucha libre, enjoy crafts and activities, and watch the film “Nacho Libre.” The main event will feature a live and family-friendly lucha libre style wrestling match by locally trained wrestlers. The free event takes place Saturday, October 26, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 5930 Brockhampton Street.

Lucha libre’s Mexican roots date back to the 19th century. The sport is known for its fast-paced moves and colorful masks used to help distinguish wrestlers.
