I-37 Nueces River Project Lane and Ramp Closures Begin Tonight

Day, Night Lane, and Ramp Closures Ahead

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Beginning today, as part of the I-37 Nueces River Bridge Reconstruction Project, Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) contractors have planned various lane and ramp closures between Sharpsburg Road and US 77.

The closures are needed for work on the new Nueces River bridge and moving barrier on the northbound frontage road at Sharpsburg Road. Drivers are urged to exercise extreme caution in the work zone and watch for workers and equipment.

Details include:

9 p.m. today until 6 a.m. Wednesday:

I-37 Northbound

  • The Sharpsburg entrance ramp will be closed.
  • The northbound frontage road will be closed from Sharpsburg Road to the Labonte Park exit ramp. The Labonte Park exit ramp will remain open. Drivers wishing to enter the northbound mainlanes from Sharpsburg may use the southbound frontage road to enter the southbound mainlanes, exit at the next ramp, turn around, and enter the northbound mainlanes.

I-37 Southbound

The left two mainlanes will be closed, north of the Nueces River. One lane will remain open.

Wednesday through Friday, 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day:

I-37 Northbound at Strasbourg

The northbound Sharpsburg exit will close. Drivers may exit northbound US 77, turn around at the next crossover, enter the southbound mainlanes, and use the southbound Sharpsburg exit ramp.

All work is weather permitting. Lane closures are subject to change without notice.
