Hurricane Harvey News Conference Recap

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - A news conference was held earlier today by Mayor Joe McComb and City Manager Margie C. Rose to update citizens on the latest information on Hurricane Harvey. Here is a review:

  • Safety of citizens of Corpus Christi is the top priority.

  • More than 1,500 customers brought debris and items to the J.C. Elliott Transfer Station to aid in the removal of potential airborne debris.

  • Corpus Christi City Hall closed today at noon.

  • American Airlines has now cancelled all flights in and out of CCIA through the weekend. This follows United and Southwest Airlines cancelling all scheduled flights. Anyone with plans to fly in the next few days should check with their airline.  

  • All Senior Centers and Recreation Centers are closed today and throughout the weekend.

  • Our City Call Center has begun 24/7 operations and citizens can call 826-2489 or 826-CITY for information about storm-related issues in the City.
