Harte Library Scheduled To Reopen Friday

The Corpus Christi Public Libraries will reopen Harte Library on Friday at 10 a.m. The library proactively closed to both the public and Flour Bluff School District on Wednesday after confirming several upholstered chairs had bed bugs. The City worked with local pest professionals to treat the library for the parasites and properly disposed of the infested furniture.

“We have taken the issue very seriously, treated the problem and will reopen on Friday at 10 a.m.,” said Laura Garcia, Director of Libraries. “Because we are a public facility, we are further evaluating all of our library branches just in case,” added Ms. Garcia. If visitors or parents have questions about the pesticides used in the treatment, they can visit with the managing librarian on site at the Harte Library for information. “We appreciate the patience of our citizens and the Flour Bluff School District during the library closure,” said Ms. Garcia.
