Free Pilot Lighting Service for Seniors
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – While it’s taking a while for colder temperatures to reach our area this year, many residents are having their heating systems checked out in preparation for winter. The City of Corpus Christi’s Gas Department is offering a free service to some customers to assist with pilot lighting.
As part of the program, citizens 65 years and older are eligible to receive a visit from a technician to light one appliance a year. Residents can call (361) 826-CITY to schedule an appointment. The service is available throughout the year but experiences a higher number of requests during the colder months.
Pilot lighting is for residential heating systems with a gas pilot light, not an electronic ignition.
