Firefighters Return to Duty after Fire Captain Tests Negative for COVID-19

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – COVID-19 negative test results were received today for the Corpus Christi Fire Captain clearing five firefighter paramedics to return to work.

The firefighters had secondary exposure to COVID-19 via a Fire Captain whose spouse tested positive recently for COVID-19. The Fire Captain who tested negative for COVID-19 will be quarantined at home which is City protocol when exposed to a person who test positive for the virus. 

The City of Corpus Christi is committed to ensuring the safety of first responders and will take necessary action to protect personnel, their families, and the community.
