Fire Stations to Host Open House for National Fire Prevention Week

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The City of Corpus Christi’s Fire Department invites residents to look, listen, and learn during National Fire Prevention Week, October 7 through October 13.

On Wednesday, October 10, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., all 18 fire stations will host an open house for residents to talk to firefighters and get answers to any fire safety questions.

This year’s fire prevention national campaign encourages everyone to “Look. Listen. Learn. Be Aware. Fire Can Happen Anywhere.” Everyone is encouraged to take the following precautions:

  • Look around your home for potential fire hazards and eliminate them.
  • Listen for and know the sound of your smoke alarm and take appropriate action if activated.
  • Learn what you can do to keep yourself and your loved ones safe by having a fire escape plan.

Reasonable accommodations are provided upon request and in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. For assistance or to request a reasonable accommodation, please call (361) 826-8423 in advance.
