Employee of the Fourth Quarter: Reliable, Hardworking
Reliable, hardworking and customer focused is how Facilities and Property Management Director Edgar Leonard describes the 2016 City Employee of the Fourth Quarter.
Gerardo "Jerry" Vedia, who is a building and grounds custodian I, has worked for the City of Corpus Christi for more than 20 years. He is a recognizable face at City Hall because on most days he can be found working on one of the six floors.
"Customers recognized and appreciated the high quality service Jerry consistently delivers," Leonard said. "Recently, the Facilities and Property Management staff received positive comments about the quality of his work, especially calling attention to details and timely response to their requests."
Nominees for Employee of the Fourth Quarter included Utilities Mechanical Foreman Jay Burrell, Police Criminal Investigation Management Assistant Amy Breedlove, IT Service Desk Rep Eryka Lee, Housing & Community Development Senior Management Assistant Gloria Fonseca, Police Central Records Customer Service Rep Susan Pulsney, Communication Print Shop Lead Brooks Hooper, IT Support Analyst II Jeff Lathan, Development Services Plan Examiner Ultra Pena, Development Services Senior Project Planner Annika Yankee and Animal Care Services Control Officer Blas Sanchez.
The 2016 City Employee of the Year is expected to be announced Friday, December 14.
