CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - When an emergency call comes in, first responders have to be ready to react with the expertise that is required to save lives. At the Corpus Christi International Airport (CCIA), we work to make sure our staff and our mutual aid partners are ready for the unexpected.
On Tuesday, March 20th at 9:00 a.m., CCIA will host an annual Table Top exercise that brings together emergency responders from all over Nueces County.
CCIA Public Safety (police, fire, EMT’s) would be first on the scene of an emergency at the airport. They would be quickly joined by first responders from all over the Coastal Bend. To fully practice the Airport’s Emergency plan, we invite representatives from area hospitals, the Red Cross, Corpus Christi Police and Fire, the Airlines that serve CCIA and emergency responders from other agencies in the city, county and state. The scenario will involve incidents both on and off the airfield that will present many challenges to those who are called to respond. This exercise will allow participants to brush up on Emergency Plans, discuss the challenges and work through the hurdles that would likely arise.
Media who would like to attend are welcome to join us in the CCIA Conference room just to the right of the TSA Checkpoint on the second floor of the Terminal. Please RSVP to CCIA Marketing Manager Kim Bridger by contacting her at (361)774-7871 or by email at kimb@cctexas.com.
