Corpus Christi International Airport Unveils New Bar and Outdoor Patio
Will Open Thursday, October 17
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX—Corpus Christi International Airport (CCIA) is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its newest passenger amenities, the Nueces Brewing Bar and Outdoor Patio. Located between gates 1 and 3, the bar and patio offer travelers a relaxing experience.
Tailwind Concessions, CCIA's food and beverage provider, will open the all-new Nueces Brewing Bar on Thursday, October 17, as part of their ongoing capital improvements. This 823-square-foot venue features a horseshoe-shaped bar, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a variety of beverages, including specialty beers, handcrafted cocktails, and wines.
Directly behind the bar is a 1,200-square-foot elevated outdoor patio and observation deck, which features an animal relief area. The space serves as both an extension of the bar, offering travelers a place to enjoy a beverage, and an observation deck where passengers can enjoy fresh air, observe aircraft landing and departing, and take 180-degree views of the airfield and beyond. The outdoor patio is a part of the Terminal Rehabilitation Project, which is 90% funded by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
“Our goal is to create an exceptional travel experience by improving amenities and operations, which will contribute to our local economy and fuel economic growth,” said Kevin Smith, Director of Aviation at CCIA. “We are excited to showcase this beautiful new bar and outdoor space to the 700,000+ passengers who travel through CCIA each year.”
These additions mark the first of several new amenities coming to CCIA. Future highlights include Island Joe's Coffee, Amazon's "Just Walk Out" shop, Gulf Coast Capital Bar & Grill, Salty Oak BBQ, and a VIP lounge.
Construction and design partners for the Nueces Brewing Bar project include Corpus Christi-based South Texas Building Partners and Mike McSwain Architect. Garver and Corgan designed the outdoor patio, which SpawGlass-Corpus Christi built.
