Come Fly a Kite - Free Event by the Mayor’s Fitness Council

Sometimes getting fit starts with just getting outdoors, moving around and having fun…like flying a kite in the park! Join us at McCaughan Park on Saturday, November 7, 2015 from 11 am to 5 pm for the annual Mayor’s Fitness Council’s Kites and Bikes Festival sponsored by the Corpus Christi Association of Realtors.

The Mayor’s Fitness Council is partnering with a local group of kite and bike enthusiasts to bring you this FREE event! We’re closing off a portion of Shoreline Boulevard so bicyclists can enjoy a car-free ride or walk around McCaughan and Sherrill Parks. In addition, the event will feature stunt kite flying demonstrations, fitness activities for the entire family, a farmer’s market, bike safety demonstrations, give-a-ways and much, much more!

Don’t have a kite? Not a problem as supplies will be provided in the kite making area and kites will be available for purchase, as well.

The Kites and Bikes Festival coupled with the Greek Festival will make parking near the event very limited. But don’t worry…the Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority (CCRTA) will be offering a free park and ride from the First Baptist Church on Ocean Drive starting at 11:00 am. Don’t get caught up in traffic, park your car and ride the B down to the festival!

Everyone is encouraged to make this a family event. Pack a healthy picnic and join us on the Bayfront! For more information about the event and schedule of activities, visit www.ccmayorsfitnesscouncil.com or call 826-PLAY.

This event has been made possible through the help of sponsors—the Corpus Christi Association of Realtors, the RTA, HEB, CH2M, Bay Area Bicycles, Port Industries and WellMed—and our partners at the Corpus Christi Convention and Visitors Bureau.
