City to Provide Additional Lighting at Lozano Golf Center’s Practice Range and Executive 9-Hole Course

Will be the First Lighted Executive Course in the Region

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – At today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Paulette M. Guajardo and the City Council approved an amended lease agreement with Foresight Corpus Christi Golf, LLC. The City will provide $500,000 from the Type B Fund for the addition of lighting improvements at the practice range and the new executive 9-hole course of the Lozano Golf Course, located at 4401 Old Brownsville Road. The lighting will further enhance the $2.3 million planned renovations to the 9-hole course and make it the first lighted executive course in the region.

The planned renovations to the 9-hole executive course will transform the underutilized 40 acres of mostly non-irrigated space into a state-of-the-art facility that will enhance golf play, programming, and instruction. With the addition of Type B Funding, the City will provide a total of $2.8 million for the capital improvements of the golf course project.

The Lozano Golf Center is owned by the City and managed by Foresight Golf, LLC.

Upon completion of the lighting improvements, Foresight Golf plans to expand its operating hours for the practice range and executive 9 course. The course improvements are scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2022.
