City Staff Tests Evacuation Plan

Recently, City employees and local agencies partnered to take part in an emergency evacuation training exercise. The focus of the drill is to see how participants put their training skills to use during a mock setting, such as a hurricane. The exercise utilizes volunteers who act as evacuees pretending to be sent by bus to safe locations throughout the state during an emergency evacuation situation.  Emergency Management Coordinator Billy Delgado said, "The emergency drill went smoothly and we are confident the City and local agencies are prepared to protect citizens."
