City of Corpus Christi Hosts Texas Comptroller’s Economic Development Symposium

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Texas Comptroller’s Office, in collaboration with the City of Corpus Christi and the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce, will host the Corpus Christi Economic Development Symposium.

The symposium will feature a series of half-day sessions on Tuesday, October 1, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. It will be held at the American Bank Center Convention Center, located at 1901 North Shoreline Boulevard.

Attendees will gain valuable insights into essential economic development tools that foster community growth and investment.

The symposium will cover essential topics such as:

  • Tax Increment Financing (Ch. 311)
  • Abatements (Ch. 312)
  • Chapter 380-381 Economic Development Agreement
  • Hotel Occupancy Taxes (HOT)
  • Economic Development Corporations (EDCs)
  • Public Improvement Districts (PIDs)
  • Municipal Development Districts (MDDs)
  • Jobs Energy Technology and Innovation (JETI)

In addition, continuing education credits will be available for attendees registered with the Texas Association of County Auditors and the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
