City Hall in the Mall a Big Success!
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Citizens wanting to learn more about City departments headed to La Palmera Mall over the weekend to take part in City Hall in the Mall. The event offered a unique and engaging way for residents to learn about the different City services and to meet the employees who make it happen.
The first 100 people attending received a free goodie bag and those visiting booths for information also got the chance to win prizes provided by the City and La Palmera Mall.
Citizens interacted with employees to talk about City services at the more than 50 booths representing City departments. The Public Libraries booth registered 43 adults and 13 new children for new cards, while 16 children signed up for the “1000 Books Before Kindergarten” program. Five of seven dogs brought in by Corpus Christi Animal Care Services (CCACS) were adopted. City Hall in the Mall was also a chance for the public to meet the Mayor, Council Members, and the City Manager.
Bringing all these departments together not only offers the public an opportunity to learn more about their inner-workings of local government, but an event like City Hall in the Mall also helps to build a sense of pride and community among the citizens of the City of Corpus Christi and the people who work for them.
