City Extends Flour Bluff Drive and Peaceful Lane Intersection Road Closure for Emergency Utility Work
Detours Remain in Place During Utility Installation
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Flour Bluff Drive and Peaceful Lane intersection closure will be extended for emergency utility work. This section of Flour Bluff Drive between Purdue Road and Glenoak Drive will remain closed to thru traffic through January 2, 2024.
The closure, which began on Monday, December 18, was originally expected to last one week to allow a contractor to install a sanitary sewer tie-in to an existing manhole as part of a private development. During the excavation, the contractor discovered structural deficiencies with the sanitary sewer manhole, requiring emergency replacement.
The following detours will be in place to redirect traffic around the intersection:
- Traffic traveling southbound on Flour Bluff Drive from S.P.I.D. (SH 358) will be detoured at Purdue Road over to Waldron Road. Traffic then can take Waldron Road to Glenoak Drive and Glenoak Drive to Flour Bluff Drive if necessary.
- Traffic traveling northbound on Flour Bluff Drive to S.P.I.D. (SH 358) will be detoured at Glenoak Drive over to Waldron Road. Traffic then can take Waldron Road to Purdue Road and Purdue Road to Flour Bluff Drive if necessary.
Safety remains a top priority, and motorists are advised to use alternative routes to avoid delays, remain aware of the work zone, and follow posted signs.
