City Encourages Public to Practice COVID-19 Safety Precautions During Buc Days Rodeo, Carnival, and Parade Pachanga

COVID-19 Safety Protocols Announced

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The City of Corpus Christi expects large crowds for the annual Buccaneer Days events from Thursday, April 29 to Sunday, May 9. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, specific safety protocols will be in place at all Buc Days events, including the Stripes Carnival, the Buccaneer Days Rodeo, the Navy Army Night Parade, and Wings Over South Texas Air Show.

The Stripes Carnival will open on Thursday, April 29, in the parking lots of the American Bank Center (1901 N Shoreline Boulevard). Guest will follow safety guidelines such as maintaining a 6’ social distance from other guests and carnival staff. Hand sanitizer stations will be provided throughout the area, and modified seating and capacity limits have been established for all carnival rides.

The Buccaneer Days Rodeo and Navy Army Night Parade will be held at the American Bank Center beginning Friday, April 30. The American Bank Center will be at 50% capacity and will implement its own safety guidelines. Guests can expect socially distanced seating, plexiglass between seat boxes, two seats between each group, and no more than ten people per group.

Wings Over South Texas at Buccaneer Days will take place Saturday, May 1, and Sunday, May 2, along the Bayfront near the American Bank Center. VIP and Reserved Section seating will be socially distanced.
