City-County Public Health District Provides Diabetes Education Classes

Participants Must Pre-Register Before Classes Fill Up

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Corpus Christi - Nueces County Public Health District and the Texas A&M Coastal Bend Health Education Center (CBHEC) provide FREE Diabetes Self-Management classes twice a month. The classes are held at the Health District, 1702 Horne Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Participants must pre-register by calling the CBHEC at 361-561-8584.

Participants must have a diagnosis of pre-diabetes or diabetes to participate. Face-to-face or online classes are available for days and evenings.

Class topics include:

  • Diabetes Overview
  • Healthy Eating
  • Nutrition
  • Physical Activity
  • Medications
  • Blood Glucose Monitoring
  • Foot Care
  • Mental Health
  • Goal Setting

The classes also include FREE:

  • Wellness screenings
  • Glucose meters
  • Glucose strips
  • Lunch (Healthy Options)
