City Council Approves Corpus Christi Crime Control District Budget

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – In today's regularly scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Paulette M. Guajardo and City Council approved the Corpus Christi Crime Control District Budget for Fiscal Year 2022 in the amount of $7,518,479.

This budget in the Crime Control and Prevention District Fund provides funding for 63 police officers, five replacement vehicles, and equipment to support both for the total cost of $7,518,479.

The Crime Control and Prevention District Fund continues the 1/8-cent sales tax to provide additional funds to enhance law enforcement efforts in the City of Corpus Christi.

"Public safety is my top priority," said Mayor Paulette M. Guajardo, "today, we approved the Crime District Budget, which ensures that 63 officers continue to serve you and the safety of your families."
