Update - City Cooling Centers Available This Weekend
Keep Cool During Extreme Temperatures
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The heat indices this weekend are expected to reach up to 109 degrees. The City of Corpus Christi would like to inform our residents that various cooling centers will be available to the public due to this weekend’s forecast. Normally, cooling centers are not opened throughout the weekend.
The senior centers that will open as cooling centers will operate on Saturday, August 14, and Sunday, August 15 from 11:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. These facilities include:
Ethel Eyerly Senior Center 654 Graham 826-2330
Broadmoor Senior Center 1651 Tarlton 826-3139
Northwest Senior Center 9725 Up River Road 826-2321
Additionally, the libraries that will open as cooling centers will operate on Saturday, August 14. Please see the list below for facility names, addresses, and operating hours:

“The health and safety of our residents is the most important priority to me,” says Mayor Paulette M. Guajardo, “these cooling centers will provide relief to those who may not have the proper air conditioning to withstand the South Texas extreme heat. I encourage anyone who needs to cool off to visit one of the City’s cooling centers.”
