City Accepts Mural To Be Gifted by Leadership Corpus Christi Class 49
New Addition to Cole Park Amphitheater
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – At today’s regular business meeting, City Council approved an agreement with Leadership Corpus Christi (LCC), Class 49, to donate a mural to the City. The new 20’ X 10’ painting will be affixed to the south side of the Cole Park Amphitheater located at 2600 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78404.
A program of the United Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the LCC is a course for emerging leaders in the community. The program is meant to build the skills, knowledge, and motivation of its students.
Members of the current class, LCC 49, are organizing the mural donation as a class gift to symbolize the beauty, unity, and resilience of our community. Local muralist, Kylie Justus, has been contracted to create the artwork. Ms. Justus will form the painting on a series of panels that will be affixed to the outer walls of the amphitheater.
“This colorful addition to Cole Park will become a new favorite spot for residents and visitors to take pictures and enjoy our beautiful bayfront park”, stated Mayor Paulette Guajardo.
As members of this community, LCC 49 expects the mural to serve as the backdrop for reflection, gatherings, and community events at Cole Park.
