Children Perform in Cartoon Comedy at Latchkey Camp

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department invites the media to its Latchkey Summer Camp’s “Cartoon Comedy Day” for a photo opportunity.
WHAT: The Latchkey Summer Camps program provides endless fun for kids ages 5 to 13, from June 12 – August 4, 2017, Monday–Friday, 7:30am–6pm at six campsites. On Cartoon Comedy Day, the children will display their acting and comedic skills in performances of the cartoons which were voted best by each group. They have been practicing their performances for weeks. Parents will surely enjoy a good laugh.
WHO: Approximately 100 boys and girls are participating in these camps each week.
WHERE: Magee Intermediate School, 4201 Calallen Drive
WHEN: Best time for this photo opportunity is on Friday, July 14, from 2–4pm.
WHY: Latchkey Summer Camps feature a wide-range of activities for children to explore their creativity, form lasting friendships and gain positive life skills. Activities include swimming, tennis, arts and crafts, guest speakers and field trips. The program which is licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services meets high standards of childcare and everyone is certified in CPR and First Aid as well as age-appropriate programming. This program is ideal for parents seeking a supervised environment for their children that offers structural activities and enrichment. Participating in performances like this comedy show provide a platform for children to express themselves and build self-confidence.
