TSA PreCheck Enrollment to return to Airport in late March

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - Due to the incredible response at a recent TSA PreCheck Enrollment event, Corpus Christi International Airport (CCIA) will host another one during the last week of March. The event will allow travelers in the Coastal Bend to come to CCIA to complete their application in the popular program.

TSA PreCheck offers travelers expedited screening at most airports in the United States. Pre-Checkers are often sent through shorter lines and are allowed to keep their shoes and light jackets on, and their 3-1-1 liquids and electronics inside their carry-on luggage during the screening process.

“We are happy to invite travelers out to the airport,” said Fred Segundo, the Director of Aviation at CCIA. “Travelers who would like to take advantage of this program will find the process quick and painless.” During the three day event last week, the average time needed to fingerprint, check documents, and take payment was around five minutes per person. 237 people were enrolled in Precheck during the three days.

Enrollees will typically be notified by the TSA if their application was approved within 2 – 3 weeks. If approved for PreCheck status, travelers will be assigned a known traveler number that can be used when making their airline reservations. The program costs $85 which is good for a five year membership. Anyone who needs to enroll in the program sooner than late March can do so now by going online to and clicking on the enroll now button. Once the application form is completed, the system will prompt users to make an appointment at a business on South Padre Island Drive and Greenwood. Travelers who would rather complete enrollment at the airport should be able to make their appointments at CCIA starting on February 12, 2018.
