Alameda Street Closure for Utility Line Replacement Project
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The City of Corpus Christi advises residents and business starting Wednesday, September 19, the southbound lanes on Alameda Street from Everhart Road to Sheridan Drive will be closed. There will only be one lane of traffic in each direction on the north side of Alameda Street.
The closure is to allow a new 16-inch diameter waterline (approximately one mile) along this section of Alameda. The new line replaces aging infrastructure (cast iron) and will improve water pressure and water quality. The project will be completed in three phases with each phase taking about a month, starting near Robert Drive.
The city reminds motorists to use caution when driving in the area and asks the public to be patient as crews work to complete this improvement project. Motorists should seek alternate routes or avoid the area, when possible.
