2024 Dia De Los Muertos Festival

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Downtown Corpus Christi will be busy this weekend. The 2024 Dia De Los Muertos Festival will be held on Saturday, October 26, from 3:00 p.m. to midnight.

To improve visitor safety, the City’s traffic plan includes closing the Twigg Street and North Port Avenue/Nueces Bay exits by 5:00 a.m. on Saturday and reopening them by 7:00 a.m. on Sunday. Visitors are strongly encouraged to plan to arrive early downtown to avoid anticipated delays related to traffic, street closures, and parking.

The Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority (CCRTA) will provide free park-and-ride services from 2:40 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. at the following locations:

• Corpus Christi City Hall, 1201 Leopard Street, 78401
• Nueces County Courthouse, 901 Leopard Street, 78401
• Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Ocean Drive Bus Stop, 6300 Ocean Drive, 78412

Traffic Impacts:

• Parking restrictions along Lower Broadway, Water Street, Schatzell Street, and Mesquite Street. Enforcement begins at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 26.
• Street closures along Lower Broadway, Chaparral Street, Starr Street, Mesquite Street, Taylor Street, and Peoples Street.
• Closure of Twigg Street exit ramp (Saturday, October 26 from 5:00 a.m. until 7:00 a.m. Sunday, October 27)
• Motorists traveling along the eastbound Martin Luther King frontage road are advised to use Port Avenue to access downtown.
• Motorists traveling along Southbound US 181 are advised to utilize the Up River Road exit and turnaround to access downtown via eastbound IH 37.
• Motorists traveling northbound SH 286 can access the Agnes Street exit to access downtown.

The closure of the Twigg Street exit is not associated with the Harbor Bridge Project.
