CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department will be offering a variety of fun family learning events during spring break, March 12–16, 2018, at the Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve located at 2446 N. Oso Parkway.
Monday, March 12, 2-4pm – Animal Tracks: Come learn about animal tracks, practice identifying them as we walk the preserve and learn to form your own plaster molds of animal tracks. All supplies will be included.
Tuesday, March 13, 2-4pm – Bug Bonanza: Participants will take a guided walk of the preserve with bug nets. We will learn to use keys and identify as many of the critters as we can and take some back to the learning center and explore with microscopes.
Wednesday, March 14, 2-4pm – Recycled Boats: We will build boats out of recycled material and sail them across our pond!
Thursday, March 15, 2-4pm – Homemade Kites: Corpus Christi is a great windy place to fly kites. We will build kites out of a variety of materials and test them out on our hillside.
Friday, March 16, 2-4pm – Aquariums and Terrariums: We have a lot of experience keeping reptiles, amphibians and aquariums. If you’ve ever wanted a short course on how to maintain these types of pets this is the event for you!
The fee for each event is $10 per person. Registration is required at https://register.ccparkandrec.com. For more information about the preserve and these events, visit www.osopreserve.com or call (361) 826-3947.
