WIC to Hold World Breastfeeding Health Fair

     The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District WIC Program will celebrate World Breastfeeding Week on August 3, 2016 with a Health Fair at 1702 Horne Rd, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

     The World Breastfeeding Week 2016 theme is “Breastfeeding:  A Key to Sustainable Development”.  The efforts are to raise awareness about how breastfeeding is a key element in getting us to think about how to value our wellbeing from the start of life, how to respect each other and care for the world we share.

     The event will offer door prices, free education, refreshments, gifts and referrals from the participating vendors.  WIC will also be giving also free breastfeeding and pregnancy gifts.

     Included in the participating vendors are lactation consultants, childbirth educators, nurses, pregnancy support, adoption information, medical referrals, parenting education and nutrition education.

     This event is free and open to the public.
