Utility Work Underway on Williams Drive

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The City of Corpus Christi Traffic Engineering office advises residents beginning Friday, February 17, through Friday, April 7, 2017, weather permitting, contractors will be doing utility work along Williams Drive between S. Staples Street and Airline Road at the intersections of Treyway Lane, Melisa Lane and Leslie Lane. The following traffic control plan will be implemented during this period:

Treyway Lane: Treyway Lane will be closed to through traffic between Joliet Drive and Williams Drive. Residents will be detoured onto Joliet Drive, then onto Melisa Lane, and then to Williams Drive.

Melisa Lane: Melisa Lane will be closed to through traffic between Joliet Drive and Williams Road. Residents will be detoured onto Joliet Drive, then onto Treyway Lane, and then to Williams Drive.

Leslie Lane: Leslie Lane will be closed to through traffic between Joliet Drive and Williams Drive.  Residents will be detoured onto Joliet Drive, then onto Melissa Lane, and then to Williams Drive.

Williams Drive will also be closed to through traffic from Treyway Lane to Leslie Lane. In the other sections of Williams Drive between S. Staples Street and Airline Road, traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction.

This work is part of the Williams Drive Improvement project (Bond 2012) in this area.

Traffic control devices will guide motorists through the work site. Drivers should expect delays and if possible seek alternate routes or avoid the area.
