Traffic Control Changes to Rodd Field Road

NOTE: ALL CLOSURES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE DUE TO WEATHER, EMERGENCY WORK, OR OTHER CURRENT EVENTS.

Corpus Christi, TX - To enhance safety along the Rodd Field Road Expansion Project (Bond 2014), Contractors will be implementing new traffic control measures between Slough Road and Brooke Road on Wednesday, August 21, 2019.  These new measures include changes to the direction of traffic and the installation of new STOP signs.

Traffic flow will be converted from two-way to one-way, in the northbound direction, from Slough Road to Brooke Road. This conversion will temporarily divert motorists, at the intersection of Brooke Road, onto Airline Road.

The intersection of Rodd Field Road and Brooke Road will be changing from a two-way STOP condition to an all-way STOP condition. This change will now require traffic along Rodd Field Road to stop at the intersection of Brooke Road. In addition to the new STOP signs, rumble strips will be installed along Rodd Field Road to improve awareness at the intersection.

Contractors will be installing message boards today along Rodd Field Road to alert drivers about the upcoming traffic control changes. Motorists should expect delays and seek alternative routes. To minimize delays in the area, southbound thru traffic is encouraged to follow the recommended detour onto Saratoga Boulevard then turn left at the traffic signal at the intersection of Airline Road. Motorists are advised to watch for equipment and workers in the work zone and reduce speeds to the work zone speed limit of 30 mph. Speeds are reduced to 15 mph within the school zone.
