RSVP Volunteers Hand Out Remembrance Bracelets
The City’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) put together almost 3,000, 911 remembrance bracelets.
The volunteers, ages 55+, used red and white twine with a silver bead to commemorate September 11th, as its national day of service and remembrance.
The group handed out the bracelets last Friday at City Hall and the police department.
The City’s RSVP program has almost 400 active members and is made possible through a federal grant under the Corporation for National Community and Services.
The focus is serving others and giving back to the community.
Last year, the group worked 4,600 volunteer hours.
