City to Activate Emergency Operations Center

City Urges Preparation and Caution

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - The City of Corpus Christi Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will be activated Friday, July 24 at 8:00 p.m. to monitor Tropical Storm Hanna.

The National Weather Service is forecasting heavy rains and high winds throughout Nueces County for the next couple of days. High-water vehicles and barricades are on stand-by if needed.

City staff is monitoring the situation and will provide updates as necessary. The EOC team is urging citizens to take the following precautions:

  • Pick up any loose items around your yard or property. These items could present hazards during high winds.
  • If you live in a flood-prone area, monitor the situation and be prepared to take appropriate action if necessary.
  • Monitor local news for frequent updates regarding the tropical activity and any rains or high winds the area may experience.

Additional updates will be released as necessary.
