City of Corpus Christi Announces Gulf Beaches are Open
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The City of Corpus Christi and Nueces County inform residents and visitors that our Gulf Beaches are open. Corpus Christi Parks Department staff are taking precautions for sanitizing the beach restrooms and facilities used by the public. Beachgoers are asked to follow U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) public safety recommendations for complying with social distancing regarding large gatherings. CDC recommendations to know the coronavirus symptoms and take daily precautions for prevention.
To avoid catching the virus, CDC recommends:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. You may also use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer as directed.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
Corpus Christi Police Department has an increased presence on our beaches. Beachgoers are encouraged to flag down a CCPD officer if they should have any questions. Staff will continue to monitor the situation to ensure the CDC and Health District guidelines are followed.
