“Act of Kindness” on Martin Luther King Day of Service

Photo Opportunity for Volunteer Service Project on January 20

CORPUS CHRISTI TX – Inspired by Martin Luther King Jr., seniors and organizations are coming together to help those less fortunate individuals in our community who are homeless.

At 9 a.m. on Monday, January 20, 2020, senior citizen volunteers of the Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation’s Garden Senior Center will meet at the center located at 5325 Greely Drive to participate in a volunteer service project to commemorate Martin Luther King Day.

The volunteers will fill 100 “Act of Kindness” Bags that will include a variety of hygiene products, sandwiches, chips, water, sodas, and other snacks. Afterwards, some of the volunteers will distribute to homeless industries in the community. Our volunteers wish to bring some hope, a tender smile, and their love to homeless members of our community to show them that the older adults in Corpus Christi care about them.

The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department is dedicated to providing quality, affordable, enrichment programs for all ages and interests.
